If you or your team need to work on scaffolding, roofs, or tall buildings, you will need a "Working at Height" medical check.

But what exactly happens during this test? The doctor will check four main things to make sure you are safe:

🩺 1. General Health The doctor will check your heart, blood pressure, weight, and blood sugar. This is to make sure you won't suddenly faint or feel sick while working high up.

👁️👂 2. Eyes and Ears You need to see danger and hear warning sounds. They will test your eyesight (including if you can see warning colors) and check your hearing.

⚖️ 3. Muscles and Balance Can you stay steady? The doctor will check your muscles, joints, and back. They will also test your balance to make sure you don't get dizzy easily.

🧠 4. Medical History and Mind The doctor will ask about past injuries and any medicines you take (some can make you sleepy!). They will also ask about your sleep habits and if you have a strong fear of heights.

Staying safe means checking your health before you put on your harness.

Certificates to work at heights usually last for 12 months, and need to be renewed and checked annually, to make sure that everyone stays safe at heights.
